Do you know self-defense techniques?

Post by Mika » 15 Apr 2015, 23:47

I'm making this poll to see how many of us here know trained self-defense techniques like various martial art forms, techniques, practices, etc. How to defend against an attacker, multiple attackers, a weapon (like a knife pulled), etc. Realistic survival skills I highly recommend everyone should know how to do when your life, some day, might depend on it.

Do you know self-defense techniques? Have you ever been in a fight (spar or street) and utilized these techniques and how successful were you? If you could list what you know and share your experience, that would be appreciated.

Yes. When we were having camping on school activities, we were taught how to defend ourselves from several knife attacks. And that actually involves twisting of the arm - which I really use against my classmates who bullies me. .w.

And Just recently, my dad enrolled me in Yaw Yan, instead of Karate-do. 'Cause summer is boring af.

my high school phys ed class actually made self defense mandatory

it was kinda fun flipping other students over my head

also generally if someones going at you, go for the solar plexus or the kidney if you can, give a moderate blow to the neck or any pressure points otherwise. all of those have worked for me.

My dad taught me to coil my hands around somebody's arm if I got into trouble. Oh, and I also like punching people in the d*ck. :D

Not really techniques, I just know how to defend myself. I also learned how to break out of a zip tie a few months back in an anti-rape program.
